ALL CHILDREN!
Bring your Easter baskets on Sunday, March 23, for the Easter Egg Hunt, starting immediately after the 9:30 service. Easter eggs represent newness and the miracle of new life. Come and celebrate the miracle of new life on Easter Sunday!!
Gwen Overland
has faithfully served our congregation as Music Director and as Organist for over 13 years, and she has now determined that the time has come for her to pursue other professional interests. The session has accepted Gwen’s resignation, effective March 30 with appreciation for her years of service to First Presbyterian church. Gwen will be honored at a reception, following our 11:00 service of worship on Sunday, March 30th. All who have benefitted from Gwen’s musical talents and leadership in worship over these past years are invited and encouraged to be present on that date to express our gratitude and warm best wishes to Gwen as she concludes her service to this church.

This year is the earliest Easter
any of us will ever see the rest of our lives! And only the most elderly of our population have ever seen it this early (95 years old or above!). And none of us have ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier! Here's the facts: 1) The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228 (220 years from now). The last time it was this early was 1913 (so if you're 95 or older, you are the only ones that were around for that!) 2) The next time it will be a day earlier, March 22, will be in the year 2285 (277 years from now). The last time it was on March 22 was 1818. So, no one alive today has or will ever see it any earlier than this year! Isn't this amazing!
WOMEN’S BOOK GROUP – March 25, 2008
NEW LOCATION for the next meeting of the Women’s Book Group on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
We will meet at Kathy Campbell’s home, 785 Beach Street, Ashland (not the Fireside Room). The book we will discuss is "The Killer Angels" by Michael Shaara. For more information please contact Kathy Campbell at 482-2819.
March is our Month at the Food Bank
Volunteering, donating canned food or writing a check are three ways you can make a difference to the under-employed and hungry in our community. Food donations can be brought to the bin located in the narthex (or to the office during the week) during the month of March or you can write a check to First Presbyterian, marked Food Bank at the bottom. With your help we can offer real, practical help to our neighbors. The items most needed at this time are: Canned fruit, vegetables, soups, refried beans, tuna and spaghetti sauce. Also needed are soy milk, dry and canned milk, packaged dinners of rice or pasta, canned dinners, peanut butter, cooking oil and boxed cereals. Also needed are large paper bags.
Attention all parents, children and youth!!
It's time to register for Presbytery of the Cascades 2008 Summer Camps! This year, camps are offered at Suttle Lake, Camp Magruder, Latgawa, and Honeyman State Park (and our high-school youth assistant, Jason Asher, will be the youth counselor at this year's Family Camp!). There are camps for various age groups and interests throughout the summer. Registration forms are located outside the Church Office, and early-bird registration continues until April 6th. Feel free to contact Nikki with any questions.
