Small Groups
|
| |
Small
groups offer participants from our faith community the opportunity
to build closer ties to one another, while having fun, gaining new
insights on issues, taking action in our community and world, learning
a new skill or sharing one. |
|
The following list of Small
Groups are examples of what is currently available at First Presbyterian
of Ashland. The exact groups available for a given time of year will
vary.
If you
have an interest you would like to
share by leading a group in the
future, please let us know either
by written note on a sign-up sheet
or by contacting the church office (mail
to: presybyashland@yahoo.com).
Please consider joining a
group.

Cook Once for
the Month
|
A group in search of
leadership!
Does it sound good to you to have twenty meals in your freezer, ready to
go? This group would gather once a month on a Saturday in the Calvin Hall
kitchen and cook up a storm, a storm resulting in food for many mouths
and some additional leisure time for busy folk. There are websites and
cookbooks with a multitude of recipes and suggestions as to how to do this.
What we need now is a leader or two who would coordinate. Do you feel a
calling? Let us know (or find out more info) by calling Wendy at 482-8235.

How to Use Your
Digital Camera
|
If
you have a digital camera and would like to learn more about it and what
you can do with your pictures, this group
is for you! We will be learning about our cameras, how to load pictures
onto a computer, how to manipulate the pictures, e-mail them, edit them,
print them, make cards, calendars, you name it – the list goes on
and on. Plans are to have the group meet for 4 sessions, with more to be
added if the interest is there. First meeting will be January 18 at 7 p.m.

Book Club
|
The book club small
group meets the last Tuesday of each month from 7-9 pm in members’ homes. We select books ahead
of time; each member brings three suggested titles, and the group chooses
books for several months in advance. We read one book per month and come
together to talk about the book’s ideas and our own thoughts
that spring from the reading. If you love to read and talk about books,
this
is a great group for you. Join us! Contact: Kathy Campbell, 482-2819
